So I’m driving home from work. You know, something I generally do every day. Kinda like you. It’s where I listen to a lot of my music. Kinda like you. I guess.
Anyway, it’s cloudy, and it’s getting cooler outside, even though summer is about to rebound. It’s not November yet, barely even October, and I think to myself, “Self, what’s on the menu today?” And the only answer I came up with was Radiohead’s Hail to the Thief.
Seriously, I might have cried a little bit when I played this. This isn’t their best album, but I’m not sure that they HAVE a best album. Because all of their albums stand alone.
But, this album is how I met Radiohead. Sure, I was a little late to the Radiohead party, but that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate them. On the contrary, dear Watson, I think they are an amazing collection of artists. Like, you know. Genius.
And they’re not just super-creative post-rock dorks. Yes, I think they are dorks, at least a little bit, and I mean that with all respect. They are amazing musicians. Just listen to their 2025 release Hail to the Thief (Live Recordings 2003 – 2009), and wow. Just WOW. The studio album is genius. The live album is unbelievable. These guys are serious musicians. Radiohead, my friends. Radiohead.
