So, I’m driving home from work one Friday, and I start listening to some Daphni, and so I started rummaging through the music catalog for bouncy, fun music that has kick-ass jams that fit with his track The Truth: The common theme here is the delightful use of sampled vocals that are seriously resampled, reproduced, and repurposed.
The result? A pretty cool playlist of electro-music. And, if you were driving on Rt. 1 that day, you might have seen a middle-aged dude bouncing just a little too much to his music.
Great stuff for a Friday afternoon drive home. Try it out. You might bounce, too.
And, if you really dive into this, Daphni and Caribou are both projects by Dan Snaith, and it should come as no surprise that Four Tet shows up here because Snaith and Four Tet’s Kieran Hebden are long-time friends and collaborators. So, naturally, they would have tracks with some common feel, right? RIGHT?
