This year, you gotta get a little angry on Halloween, at least in a postively merry way. Kick it old school, or, at least mostly old school with 13 (THIRTEEN!!!!) very angry tunes that blend very nicely with Halloween.
And, if you are a dog named Zeke, get prepared with your costume. And guard the front door. And the back door. And the front window. And the second floor window. And the tree. And the back patio. Bark if it moves. Bark if it doesn’t move. Bark at the world. Bark at the Moon!
I have to say that it occurred to me while making this list that I could probably create a Halloween playlist in which all of the songs are simply Halloween. I mean, 3 of the songs here are named Halloween. I coulda’ gone serious metal and put on Helloween’s Halloween. King Diamond did a song called, um, Halloween. Acid did Halloween Queen (close enough), and the list goes on. But, lucky for you, those three songs didn’t make the cut. Like, seriously lucky.
Who could have ever imagined that a playlist would have Mötley Crüe living in perfect harmony with Dead Kennedys, Misfits, and Bach.
Huh.
This kinda brings me to another question that’s been burning in my mind lately: How can we ever actually know if a band’s name starts with “The” or not? Misfits are not The Misfits, but The Beatles are… The Beatles. Pixies, Sex Pistols, but… The National. The Lumineers. Deftones, Ramones, Talking Heads, but… The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Killers. There is no logic here. My world is spinning wildly out of control. I feel lost.
Get me some halloween candy. Two Milky Ways, a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup (the big one!), and a Charleston Chew, STAT!!!!
