Today is Fathers’ Day. Kick back with your friends, pour your favorite cocktail (a gin and juice, perhaps?) or mocktail, listen to some old school and not so old school hip-hop, play some corn hole, and, you know, barbecue. Or whatever works for you.

Ooh la la, it’s gonna be a good day!
The story of Danger Mouse’s mashup of Jay-Z and The Beatles is worth checking out. In short, Jay-Z thought it was cool, Paul and Ringo thought it was cool, but EMI didn’t, so you’ll have to find a copy somewhere like Discogs, a used record store, or a friend. If you can get your hands on one, do it right away! Truly, you will be a happier person if you listen to this super cool album: Jay-Z’s a cappella The Black Album on top of samples from The Beatles White Album.
Ladies and Gentlemen: The Grey Album.
Happy Fathers’ Day to all of you!

hmmmm. It’s hard for the Grey Album to be on a playlist. It’s a Legit brilliant album that must be played E2E

agreed, but here I’ve done it, even though the only people who can listen to it are those who have it.

Well, it’s kinda like beer, no? You just order it and get it, and then take it in. All the way down yer gullet. All that said, Jay Z did a brilliant collab with the Grey Album. Should buy him a beer and be like “I hope those samples were worth the residual payments”. But yeah, he wrangled and mangled the Beatles in a beautiful angry way with vibe juice.
